Breakout sessions
A breakout session is a 60-minute session intended to provide space for topics of special interest and an opportunity for discussion and exchange across different perspectives. We see discourse as an important element for learning synergy, so we encourage including an interactive element in the submission. The plan for breakout sessions should be described in the abstract. Authors may propose a breakout theme from areas of special interest, although conference organizers reserve the right to adjust streams.
- Breakout sessions will be one hour
- More than one presenter is permitted
- Sessions must be interactive; typical format includes 40 minutes of presentation, followed by a 20-minute Q&A
Posters
A poster is a visual summary of a proposed topic. The full spectrum of academic considerations, projects, descriptions of treatment programs and models, and research results across the spectrum of addiction psychiatry will be considered. Students and trainees are strongly encouraged to apply.
Posters are to be presented in person, noting that CAAP will not be providing any materials to display the posters, including any mounting materials. Only bulletin board space will be provided. Poster board size specifications are: 110cm wide by 110cm tall (maximum size of the poster). Posters will be evaluated, with formal recognition of best poster.
Poster presentation abstracts describing a research study must be structured with the following headlines:
-
Introduction/background describing the context or background of the study.
-
Methods explaining the methodology used, including study design, data collection, and analysis method.
-
Results highlighting the key findings or outcome of the study.
-
Conclusion summarizing the implication of the results, and future areas of work if applicable
Videos
A video presentation is a recorded documentation of personal experiences, case studies, research findings, or educational content. This format typically incorporates visuals such as slides, images, and sometimes patient interviews, providing a more engaging experience for attendees. Prospective participants must submit an abstract highlighting the video's relevance to addiction psychiatry. Videos should be between 5 to 10 minutes in length. Selected videos will be featured on the CAAP website during and after the conference, ensuring accessibility for both attendees and those unable to participate in real-time.
